BIOGRAPHY

Graduate degree in Bio-Analysis with a vast experience in the area of clinical laboratory. credited by the MT-ASCP (National Association of American Pathologists); Post graduate professor and mentor; Technical manager in the private sector, in the area of HIV research and introduction of new technologies and with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) as senior advisor in the area of laboratory. In the Dominican Republic under the PEPFAR initiative. Provided support to the National Public Laboratory in the implementation of DAN – PCR for infants as well as the external quality control program for CD4 Tests and Viral Loads; Supported the training of the staff in the engineer department of the Ministry of Public Health in the calibration of the bio-security cabins for all the public health sector.

Responsible through my work in CDC of introducing in the Dominican Republic the SLMTA/SLIPTA program to implement a Quality Control Program under the ISO:15189 Norm.

Since 2018, through my work with GIS, as laboratory consultant in the Decentralization of the Monitoring HIV Tests in the Dominican Republic project supported by CONAVIHSIDA and funded through the Global Fund, I have been able to collaborate in the selection and habilitation of the laboratory sites, equipment and complementary furniture selection, including those for the disinfection and sterilization areas for the centers selected at the national level. Responsible for the initial technical training for the centers’ staff together with the National Public Health Laboratory and representatives of the commercial firms who have installed the CD4 and viral load equipment. Presently, I am part of the GIS team responsible for the development and implementation of an Unified System for the transportation of samples and delivery of results (SUTMER) for the Dominican National Health Service (SNS) under the USAID/DR FHI360 Project..
